Coriander Chutney
Coriander chutney is a popular Indian condiment made with fresh coriander leaves (also known as cilantro), green chili peppers, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, salt. It is a refreshing and tangy chutney that is commonly served as a side dish with various Indian snacks like samosas, pakoras, and chaat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh coriander leaves, washed and chopped
- 1-2 green chili peppers, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, peeled
- 1 inch piece of ginger, peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Water, as needed
Instructions
Blend all the above to a smooth paste adding a little water. Can be refrigerated for about 1-2 days.
- In a blender or food processor, combine the coriander leaves, green chili peppers, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, salt.
- Blend the mixture until it forms a smooth paste, adding water as needed to achieve the desired consistency.
- Taste the chutney and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Transfer the chutney to a bowl and serve immediately or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 1-2 days.
